SCEE JV wins more Wheatstone work

Perth-based Southern Cross Electrical Engineering says its joint venture with Kentech has grown its order book at the Chevron-operated Wheatstone LNG project near Onslow to $60 million.

SCEE said in a brief statement today that the KSJV’s sub-contract with Bechtel to deliver electrical and instrumentation installation services at Wheatstone has received over $60 million worth of orders to-date.

“The work, which has commenced, is expected to be performed in the 2017 financial year,” the company said in a statement.

SCEE holds a 50 per cent stake in the joint venture.

According to SCEE’s annual report, released in September, the company’s share of profit from continuing operations the joint venture for the 2016 financial year was $603,000; that’s down from $2.79 million in FY15.

SCEE shares closed 9 per cent higher to  48 cents each.
