Andrew and Nicola Forrest-owned boot retailer RM Williams will open a flagship store in the OneNinety building as a $10 million redevelopment of the precinct nears completion.
Fiveight, the property arm of the Forrest family's investment company Tattarang, bought 190 St Georges Terrace for $51.1 million in November 2020.
The office building, dubbed OneNinety, is in the final phases of a $10 million redevelopment.
RM Williams will open the Perth flagship store at OneNinety in August, Fiveight announced today.
According to Fiveight, the 218 square metre store would be the first RM Williams flagship to feature handcrafted finishes and fixtures from Australian makers.
Tattarang has owned RM Williams since a $190 million acquisition in October 2020.
RM Williams chief executive Paul Grosmann said the store represented a new future in craftmanship, innovation and sustainability.
“This location is the beating heart of Perth’s vibrant business district, the perfect place to service our customer’s needs, tell our unique storey and provide an experience that’s crafted for life,” he said.
Fiveight head John Meredith said the arrival of RM Williams at OneNinety reimagined the relationship between retail and office spaces.
OneNinety will feature 9,000 square metres of floor space across 12 levels, to house commercial, hospitality, and community areas while offering office spaces ranging from sub-200sqm to 890sqm.
“Fiveight’s partnership with RM Williams is a deliberate fusion of boutique real estate and a timeless signature style, transforming our OneNinety property to deliver a unique integrated building experience with an iconic Australian brand,” Mr Meredith said.
“The new OneNinety precinct challenges the means of traditional office redevelopments. We are bringing not only the first RM Williams flagship, but a range of premium amenity for our tenants and the broader business community to enjoy.”
The upcoming store will be the first to be designed with Anthony Hoffman at Melbourne-based design consultancy ARCD, the Fiveight announcement said.
Z1Z Venues, also part of Tattarang, has lodged a liquor licence application to operate a hospitality venue on the ground and mezzanine floors of OneNinety.
OneNinety adjoins the heritage-listed Cloisters on the northern side of St Georges Terrace.
The building was originally developed in 1982 by British entrepreneur Lord Alistair McAlpine.
