Belmont-based Pindan has secured a $7.8 million state government contract to design and build a new bus depot in Mount Claremont.
Under the contract, Pindan will build a facility with a 55-bus capacity on a 1.2-hectare site west of Brockway Road.
The depot will also include a four-bay workshop, administration building, bus refuelling facilities and bus wash facilities.
Between 30 and 40 buses are expected to use the facility initially.
Transport Minister Rita Saffioti said she was pleased to award the contract to a local company.
“While smaller in scale to some projects being delivered by this government, infrastructure like this is critical to ensuring we deliver long-term solutions for Perth’s bus network,” she said.
