Grant Thornton has appointed Matthew Hingeley head, audit and assurance. Mr Hingeley has served as a partner of the firm for 11 years, and transferred from the Melbourne office to Perth in March last year. He replaces Michael Hillgrove in the role. Mr Hillgrove had headed the audit and assurance practice in Perth for five years.

 

PwC has recruited Craig Shepherd as a director in its infrastructure and urban renewal team. Mr Shepherd most recently served as director, strategic infrastructure and planning at the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage. Before joining the Department of Planning in 2010, he worked in planning roles for the City of Nedlands and TPG Town planning and Urban Design.

 

Savills has appointed Nick Charlton and Brett Parry associate directors. Mr Charlton joins the capital transactions team after three years in JLL’s Kuala Lumpur office, where he specialised in commercial office transactions. Prior to joining JLL, he worked for DTZ in London. Mr Parry joins Savill’s office leasing team after eight years managing ANZ’s WA property risk department.

 

Cannings Purple has appointed Annette Ellis chief executive. Ms Ellis has been with the firm since 2008. She previously led the company’s corporate affairs practice. Fran Lawrence has been promoted to head up that team as director, corporate affairs. Ms Lawrence has served as an associate director since 2015. Warrick Hazeldine remains managing director of Cannings Purple.

 

The company responsible for the Balla Balla infrastructure project, BBI Group has appointed Peter Thomas chief executive. Mr Thomas was most recently director, projects for Adani Australia. His Adani role followed ten years with Fortescue Metals Group, which included two and a half years as project director for FMG’s T155 port and rail expansion projects. Previous chief executive Nicholas Curtis has stepped down to an executive director role with the company.

 

HopgoodGanim Lawyers has promoted Andrew Vinciullo to special counsel. Mr Vinciullo has served in the firms dispute resolution and commercial litigation team since 2014, following roles with Skadden, Linklaters, Downings Legal, and Simon Walters.

 

Lavan has appointed Tamic D’Uva, Lorraine Madden, and Anka Burns special counsels. Ms D’Uva joined Lavan in 2004, and is a member of the construction and infrastructure team. Ms Madden has been with the firm for four years in the litigation and disputes resolution team. Ms Burns joins Lavan’s property and leasing team after eight years with Jackson McDonald. Lavan has also appointed Carmen Boothman and Alec Weston senior associates, and Ching Yee Tan and Jesse Way associates.

 

Sparke Helmore Lawyers has appointed three special counsels and one senior associate in its Perth insurance law team. Joanne Clarke, Ben Coppin, and Colby Treasure have been appointed special counsel. All three were members of Jarman Mckenna when it merged with Sparke Helmore last year. Deirdre Pennock has been promoted to senior associate after nine years with the firm.

 

Kott Gunning Lawyers has promoted to Henrik Eklund and Ann Spencer to senior associate. Mr Eklund works in the insurance and risk team, while Ms Spencer is part of the commercial dispute resolution practice. Both joined Kott Gunning in 2014.
