Linton recruited by Scotford & Fennessy

Recruitment firm Scotford & Fennessy has appointed Charles Linton principal, agribusiness. Mr Linton was previously manager, sales and marketing at Robert Walters. In his 11 years with Robert Walters, he managed a number of teams in Melbourne, London and Perth. S&F has also appointed Jo Reid senior recruitment consultant within their executive mining team. Ms Reid was previously sales manager, Asia-Pacific with Hexagon Mining.

Hammond takes regional role

Pilbara Development Commission chair Brendan Hammond has been appointed chair of the Regional Development Trust. He replaces outgoing RDT chair Tim Shanahan. Mr  Hammond was chair of Horizon Power from 2006 to 2014, and is also a past chair of the Dampier Ports Authority. He was appointed PDC chair in September.

Busselton Water board changes

The state government has made two appointments to the board of Busselton Water. Christine Kershaw has been appointed to the board, while existing board member Matt Walker has been appointed deputy chair. The appointments come as previous deputy chair Paul Carter departs the board. Ms Kershaw is chair of the South West Catchment Council and Cape Naturaliste College. She is a former member of the board of Regional Development Australia South West.

Rocchi Linkwest president

Neighbourhood centres representative body Linkwest has appointed Cate Rocchi president. Ms  Rocchi is chief executive of Perth Media, which she founded in 2015, and has served on the Linkwest board since 2014. Pingelly Community Resource Centre coordinator Lee Steel was elected deputy president.

Cooke to Reward

Remuneration consultancy The Reward Practice has appointed Bryan Cooke principal. Mr Cooke was previously director, people advisory services at EY.

McConn joins PACT

PACT Construction has appointed Scott McConn design manager. Mr  McConn joins the commercial builder after almost seven years as a director of JCY Architects and Urban Designers. From 2006 to 2010, he served as design manager for Doric Construction. Mr  McConn’s project experience includes work on Westralia Plaza and Wellington Central.

Grey-Smith at Cannings Purple

Cannings Purple has appointed Tim Grey-Smith an account manager in its government relations practice. A former City of Fremantle councillor, Mr  Grey-Smith has spent the past four years leading his own business development consultancy, and has recently worked as a business broker for Ascend Corporate. He joined Cannings in April as a special counsel.

New role for Ball

Citadel-MAGNUS has appointed Yvonne Ball an associate director in its Perth office. A former media relations manager for Fortescue Metals Group and Woodside Petroleum, Ms  Ball most recently served in a Hong Kong-based role as the RBC Capital Market’s corporate communications manager, Asia Pacific. She is also a former journalist for AAP and The Australian Financial Review.

Agnew to chair co-op council

Royal Automobile Club of WA chief executive Terry Agnew has been appointed 2018 chair of the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals. A founding member of BCCM, Mr  Agnew became a director in 2015. He has led RAC WA since 1998. Mr  Agnew is also chair of Edge Employment Solutions, and a director of MDA National Insurance.

Senior UWA posting

The University of Western Australia has appointed Simon Biggs senior deputy vice-chancellor. Professor  Biggs is currently the executive dean of the faculty of engineering, architecture and information technology at the University of Queensland. He will take up the new position in March. The role has remained vacant since previous incumbent, Dawn Freshwater, was formally elevated to vice-chancellor in January.
