Local law firms make moves

Clifford Chance has promoted Sam Luttrell as partner. Dr  Luttrell has been with the firm since 2013, after returning from a Paris-based role with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He specialises in international arbitration in the energy and resources sector. Dr  Luttrell has also served in past roles at Allens and Kott Gunning.

Ashurst has appointed Andrew Gay as a partner in its Perth office. Mr  Gay was previously a senior associate with the firm, having joined in 2011 following previous stints at Blake Dawson and Finlaysons. Mr  Gay’s work focuses on native title and cultural heritage issues in relation to resources and infrastructure projects.

Kott Gunning Lawyers has appointed Mike Baldwin special counsel, industrial relations. In this role, he leads the firm’s workplace relations practice. Mr  Baldwin has past experience as an in-house counsel for Kentz and the Master Builders Association of the ACT.

Clifford Chance’s former managing partner Paul Vinci and former partner Justin Harris have joined Johnson Winter and Slattery as partners.

New AHG roles

Automotive Holdings Group has created two new executive roles, appointing Paul Morris general manager, franchised automotive, and Simon Ramsay general manager, trucks. Mr  Ramsay has been with AHG for almost two decades and was previously dealer principal, Daimler trucks Perth. Mr  Morris was previously director of operations, emerging markets for Inchcape.

Lease Equity expands leadership team

Lease Equity has appointed Shane Isaacs as director, adding him to the firm’s leadership team. Mr  Isaacs was previously senior consultant at Burgess Rawson. He had been with Burgess Rawson for 13 years, and specialised in commercial property sales in the suburbs on the fringe of the Perth CBD.

Cox COO at St Ives

St Ives Home Care has appointed David Cox as chief operating officer. Mr  Cox was previously partner and head of operational strategy at aged care advisory firm Ansell Strategic. He is a registered nurse with more than two decades of experience in the aged care and disability sectors. Mr  Cox is a director of Therapy Focus and chair of Curtin Care.

Cobai in media role at CME

The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia has appointed Rosalie Cobai manager, media and communications. Ms Cobai has worked as a government media adviser for 13 years, most recently serving in the office of former state attorney general Michael Mischin.

Dawe moves to Citadel-MAGNUS

Citadel-MAGNUS has appointed Tony Dawe a director of its Perth office. Mr Dawe was previously at PPR, where he was a senior account director. Prior to joining PPR in 2011, he spent five years as managing director of Dawe Media Group.

Technology Assisting Disability WA appointment

Technology Assisting Disability WA has appointed Steve Pretzel chief executive following the resignation of Bob Whitaker last month. Mr Whitaker had been at the helm of TADWA for over 15 years. Mr  Pretzel was the co-founder of digital media company Pretzel Logic, which he led as managing director from 1992 to 2007. More recently, he and Valerie Pretzel founded and ran consultancy firm Trail Bike Management Australia.
