Legal appointments

Lavan has appointed Cinzia Donald a partner in its litigation and dispute resolution team. Ms  Donald joined Lavan Legal as a special counsel in February last year. Ms  Donald previously was with Lavan from 2006 until joining Bennett + Co as a senior associate in 2011. Cameron Bourhill has returned as a senior associate in Lavan’s construction and infrastructure team after two years as a commercial manager for CB&I working on engineering, procurement and construction projects in Europe and the Middle East. The firm has appointed Jasmine Sims and Daniel Moss as associates.

MinterEllison has appointed Bryn Davis as partner and Tarryn Loftus as senior associate in its Perth office. A specialist in mergers and acquisitions, Mr  Davis has served with the firm since 2006. Ms  Loftus joined MinterEllison in 2011 after previous work with Lavan.

Bennett + Co have promoted Taleesha Elder to senior associate and Alastair Forward to associate. Ms  Elder has been with the firm since 2013, and Mr  Forward since 2014.

Biljana Radulovic has joined HHG Legal’s family law team as a solicitor. Ms  Radulovic was previously with the firm Frichot & Frichot.

Norfolk joins Kott Gunning Lawyers

Heather Norfolk will be joining Kott Gunning as a licensed business conveyancer, after the law firm bought All Property Conveyancing. The firm has also promoted four of its lawyers. Ken Grunder from the insurance and risk team, and the commercial team’s Claire Hawke-Gundill have both been appointed senior associates, while Daniel Coster and Conor Breheny become associates of the firm.

Crown Perth appointment

Crown Hotels has appointed Trudy Cook hotel manager, Crown Towers Perth. Prior to her arrival in Perth, Ms  Cook held integral positions both internationally and domestically in both sales and marketing and hotel management at luxury hotels including Shangri La Hotel, The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Palazzo Versace and Dusit International.

New Grant Thornton partner

Grant Thornton has appointed Steve Andreazza as a partner and national specialist, taxes research and development. Mr  Andreazza spent nine years with Deloitte working in the R&D and government incentives area of that firm’s tax services practice. The past three of those years were as a partner. Prior to that, he spent more than four years with EY.

BDO appointments

BDO has appointed three partners in its Perth office. Automotive services lead Matthew Cutt has been made a partner, audit and assurance after eight years with the firm. BDO has promoted Carl Di Lorenzo to partner, corporate and international tax. Mr  Di Lorenzo moved from PKF to BDO in 2010 following previous experience with PwC. Andrew Hillbeck has been named partner, risk advisory. Mr  Hillbeck joined BDO in 2015 as principal, risk advisory after six years as principal auditor for Chevron.

New partner for WA Insolvency Solutions

Jimmy Trpcevski has become the fourth partner of WA Insolvency Solutions, the Western Australian division of Jirsch Sutherland. Mr  Trpcevski joined WAIS in 2007 after prior roles with SimsPartners and Moore Stephens.

St John of God appoints Midland Private CEO

St John of God Health Care has appointed Paul Dyer as chief executive of Midland Private Hospital for an initial two-year period. Mr  Dyer will oversee the 60-bed private beds currently co-located at St John of God Midland Public Hospital as well as be heavily involved in the planning and development of the new stand-alone SJoG Midland Private Hospital. He has served as chief executive SJoG Geraldton Hospital for the past five years and previous held senior nursing executive roles at St John of God’s Bendigo and Burwood Hospitals.

Changes at Pitcher Partners

Pitcher Partners has appointed Jaimie Godden to the role of executive director, business development. Ms  Godden has been with the firm since 2003, and previously served as marketing director. Pitcher Partners has also appointed Michael Liprino and Amy Black as senior managers in audit and corporate restructuring and insolvency respectively. In addition to this, Nicholas Fiori, Ben Macpherson and Rhiannon Clews have been promoted to managers in the corporate finance and tax divisions.

Lachlan Ottley joins Altegra Property Group

Altegra Property Group has appointed Lachlan Ottley executive, commercial sales and leasing, and special projects. Mr  Ottley joins Altegra after five years as sales and leasing executive for Savills.

Gray chair of Youth Focus

Herbert Smith Freehills partner David Gray has been appointed chair of Youth Focus. Mr  Gray has served on the board of the organisation since 2008. He replaces Panoramic Resources managing director Peter Harold in the role. Mr  Harold has left Youth Focus after nine years on the board, and five as chair.

Dorazio takes WWWA reins

Walker Wayland WA has appointed John Dorazio managing director. He replaces Joe Lamhut in the role. Mr  Lamhut had served as managing director for 15 years. Mr  Dorazio is lead of the firm’s audit team and the former chair of Walker Wayland Australasia. He is a director of the Perth Football Club, and has been a director of Walker Wayland WA since 2002 and of Walker Wayland Australasia since 2011.

Changes at ERA

The Western Australian government has appointed Ray Challen and Greg Watkinson to the governing body of the Economic Regulation Authority, following the departure of Steve Edwell. Dr  Challen has headed the Public Utilities Office for the past five years, while Mr  Watkinson has been chief executive officer of the Economic Regulation Authority since 2010.

New members for Parkerville board

Parkerville Children and Youth Care has appointed Sophie Raven and Trudi Chesterton to its board. Ms  Raven is a director, legal with PwC and has previously served as company secretary on the boards of numerous ASX-listed companies. Ms  Chesterton is state operations and supply chain manager for Wesfarmers Industrials subsidiary Blackwoods.

Purple promotions

Cannings Purple has promoted Fran Lawrence to director, corporate affairs. Ms  Lawrence had been an associate director for two years, and was previously WA media and communications manager for Colliers International. In addition, Cannings has recruited Charlie Wilson-Clark as an associate director. Ms  Wilson-Clark was previously the community relations adviser of Golder Associates.

Stephen Brown has resigned as chief executive of WAFarmers after three years in the role.

Pia Engstrom has launched the first Australian franchise of global SME-focussed HR advisory The HR Dept. Ms Engstrom has worked as an HR manager for such companies as AMEC Foster Wheeler, ATCO Gas Australia, WA Freight Group, and Centurion.

Snell joins United Way

United Way WA has appointed Kath Snell as chief executive. Ms  Snell was previously chief executive of Volunteer Task Force, having held that position from 2014 until the organisation’s recent merger with Care Options and Community First. She is a past board member of the WA Aids Council, a former deputy chair of Volunteering WA, and is currently the vice chair of the Australian Community Transport Association.

Asterisk Information Security has appointed Cairo Malet security consultant. Ms  Malet previously held security analyst roles at TPG Telecom and iiNet.

Stuart Hicks has stepped down after serving a maximum term of six years as chair of the South West Development Commission. Bannister Downs’ Sue Daubney and Margaret River Busselton Tourism Association chief executive Pip Close are also leaving the board. Mrs  Daubney leaves having finished her term, while Ms  Close is resigning to take up a role in Queensland.

Former iiNet head of communications Anthony Fisk has been appointed an executive director of Campaign Capital. Mr  Fisk was previously an associate director at Citadel-MAGNUS.

City of Perth counsellor and 2016 40under40 winner Jemma Green has been appointed to the board of the Water Corporation.

EBM has appointed Clint Jeuring an executive account director. Mr  Jeuring served with JLT for 17 years, including as divisional manager, JLT Energy.

Indian Ocean Consulting Group has appointed Colleen Handy as a senior tax consultant. She joins the firm from PwC, where she was a senior manager. She also has past experience with UHY Haines Norton and KPMG.

Churchill Consulting has appointed Daniel Fingland manager in its performance improvement team. He was previously a transformation manager with Coles in Melbourne, following eight years with EY.
