Changes at Clifford Chance

Clifford Chance has appointed Paul Lingard as managing partner, Perth. Mr  Lingard has been a partner at the firm since 2014. He previously spent 12 years with King & Wood Mallesons, becoming a partner in 2010. Mr  Lingard replaces Paul Vinci in the role, beginning in May. Mr  Vinci has been managing partner since 2015. Senior partner Jon Carson has resigned after six years as a partner with the firm, and more than four decades in the legal profession.

DPP Appointment

The Western Australian government has appointed Amanda Forrester as the state’s director of public prosecutions. Ms  Forrester becomes the first woman to be appointed to the role in WA. She has been acting-DPP since November last year when previous DPP Joseph McGrath was appointed a Supreme Court judge. Ms  Forrester was previously a consultant state prosecutor and senior state prosecutor. She has two decades of prosecution experience in the courts of Victoria and WA. Ms  Forrester was appointed Senior Counsel last year.

SWM appoints former iiNet exec

Seven West Media has appointed Maryna Fewster director, WA operations. Ms  Fewster has been working for Seven West for six months in a consulting role. She was chief operating officer of iiNet from 2014 to 2015, leaving roughly a month after the company’s merger with TPG Telecom. Prior to that role, Ms  Fewster had been chief customer officer. In 2015, she was appointed to the boards of Celebrate WA and the West Coast Eagles.

New board member for CACWA

Gaye McMath has been appointed to the board of the Chamber of Arts and Culture WA, replacing Warwick Hemsley who has been on the board for four years.  Mrs  McMath is a former executive of the University of Western Australia, serving ten years as executive director, finance and resources before two years as chief operating officer. Last year she left the university after a brief stint as executive director, Perth Education City. During her final eight years at UWA, Mrs  McMath was also on the board of the Perth International Arts Festival. She currently sits on the boards of Gold Corporation, Perth Markets, Perth Convention Bureau, and is deputy chair of Committee for Perth.
