The Independent Living Centre WA has appointed Steve Glew chief executive. Mr  Glew was previously executive director of the department for child protection and family support, a role he held for just over ten years. Mr  Glew’s predecessor in the role, Gerri Clay left ILCWA earlier this year to take up the reins of EdConnect Australia. Ms  Clay had served as ILCWA chief executive since 2004.

Mark Ehlers has joined Cottesloe-based agency Space Real Estate as a sales consultant. Mr Ehlers was previously a senior account manager, residential sales at Domain.

Bethanie has promoted Felicity Beaulieu to chief operating officer, community. Ms  Beaulieu joined the aged care provider in 2010 and has served in various management roles including general manager, community and acting chief operating officer, care services. Prior to entering the organisation, she spent ten years as occupational therapy coordinator at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

Chapter One Advisors has expanded its team with the appointment of senior consultant Alex Baker. Mr  Baker was previously with PPR, where he worked for five years.

Not-for-profit employment services provider Workskil Australia has expanded into Western Australia, appointing Hugh Reilly as WA state manager. The organisation has recently opened 14 offices in the state, following the award of a number of jobactive contracts. Mr  Reilly was previously general manager, employment services at Max Employment. His past employment services experience also includes senior roles with the Salvation Army, PVS Workfind, and Employment Services Group.

Bis Industries has appointed Scott Beckwith director, operational services. Mr  Beckwith was most recently general manager, Asia Pacific for drilling services provider Boart Longyear. He also has past business management experience with Thiess Indonesia, Toll Resources, and Orica.

After 34 years as an insolvency practitioner, Dino Travaglini has retired as a partner at Cor Cordis. Mr  Travaglini joined Cor Cordis in 2014, following three years as principal at Grant Thornton. He has been an Australian Financial Security Authority registered trustee since 1997. Mr  Travaglini has decided to shift towards a less formal corporate advisory and consultancy role.

Citadel-Magnus has appointed Chantelle O'Sullivan associate director. Ms  O’Sullivan was previously senior marketing manager at Perth Racing. Her communications experience includes roles with the MRA, Bauxite Resources, the City of Cockburn, and Edith Cowan University.

Kia Dowell has been appointed a commissioner of Tourism WA. Ms  Dowell is executive director, strategy and innovation at the Indigenous Business Australia and chair of the Gelganyem Trust. She was co-founder of The Cultural Connection Code, and was named a winner of the 2015 40under40 awards for her work with that organisation. Ms  Dowell replaces Elizabeth Gaines, who has resigned to focus on her new role as Fortescue Metals chief executive.

HopgoodGanim has recruited Leith Ayres as a partner. Mr  Ayres was previously a partner with MinterEllison. He, along with senior associate Mark Hyde and associate Cal Doran, join HopgoodGanim’s Perth litigation, dispute resolution, insolvency, and reconstruction practices.

The state government has appointed Graham Hill director of the Legal Aid Commission. Mr  Hill is currently director of Legal Aid Tasmania, a position he has held since 2014. He also has experience as head of the legal branch of the Victorian department of premier and cabinet. Previous director of the WA Legal Aid Commission George Turnbull retired in July last year. Mr  Hill takes up the post in May, with Lex Payne continuing as acting director until that point.

DLA Piper has promoted Alyson Eather to partner in the Perth finance and projects team. Ms  Eather joined DLA in 2010, after five years as a solicitor with TressCox Lawyers.
