Pact Construction has won a $15.5 million contract to build Willing Property’s boutique apartment complex, The Whitfield, in Bassendean.
The 34-apartment building will be constructed over four levels, with work set to start in October.
Willing Property founder Tim Willing said 75 per cent of the apartments had already been sold.
The project is located at 78-80 Old Perth Road, across the road from the Hawaiian’s redeveloped Bassendean Shopping Village.
Business News reported earlier this year that the project was a key plank in the revitalisation of the Bassendean town centre.
“The Whitfield will further enhance Bassendean’s status as a town on the rise, with excellent transport, local amenities, access to the CBD and Swan Valley along with an emerging café, local shopping and small bar scene,” Mr Willing said.
Mr Willing said the office component of the development had been sold to a financial services company, while the café premises was also spoken for.
The project was designed by John Silbert and Associates.
“This is the third project for Willing Property in the past year, which include The Townhouses in Mt Hawthorn, where we revamped 42 three-bedroom and two-bathroom townhome residences, as well as our forthcoming riverfront land lots in Bayswater,” Mr Willing said.
