Nuheara finds manufacturer for IQbuds

Wednesday, 8 June, 2016 - 15:17

Wearable technology company Nuheara has found a manufacturer for its IQbuds product, which is expected to hit the market before the end of the year.

Nuheara has partnered with global electronics manufacturer Flextronics, which services companies such as Apple, Fitbit, Lenovo, Microsoft and Cisco.

“Flex is recognised as one of the world’s top contract manufacturers and we are very pleased to have such a reputable company manufacturing IQbuds,” Nuheara chief executive Justin Miller said.

“Our primary objectives in selecting a manufacturer were two-fold; the first was experience with a proven track record of quality, while the second was ability to scale.

“With any technology manufacturing it is critical that any company’s first manufactured product is as good as its millionth.

“Flex executes this directive for some of the world’s largest technology and consumer electronics brands.”

Nuheara also hopes to benefit from Flex’s after-market supply chain logistics services.

Flex operates 100 facilities across about 30 countries.

Nuheara shares were 3.2 per cent lower to 8.8 cents each at the close.
