Australia’s largest airline is planning to build a new lounge at Karratha Airport that will be double the size of the present facility.

Qantas said today its planned new regional lounge would be built in a new area on the upper level of Karratha Airport.

The new lounge will feature floor-to-ceiling windows with tarmac views, and will feature work and rest areas, complimentary refreshments and beverages, WiFi and Foxtel.

Qantas’s existing Karratha Lounge is available for use by Qantas Club members, customers travelling in business class, eligible frequent flyers and oneworld members.

“As the only airline to offer a lounge at Karratha Airport, this will be a great boost to both Pilbara region locals as well as the important fly-in, fly-out market, offering more room to relax prior to their flight,” QantasLink chief executive John Gissing said.

“Karratha is our largest port in the region so investing in a new lounge is a clear indication of our commitment to Karratha and the Pilbara.”

The new lounge will open early next year.
