Monadelphous is one of three contractors to have been appointed to a panel for $450 million of water projects in regional NSW, and has secured its first contract under the program.

The Hunter Water Corporation’s four-year program comprises the upgrade and renewal of water, waste water and recycled water systems.

The Hunter Valley region of NSW is located north of Sydney and includes the city of Newcastle and the Lake Macquarie local government area.

Monadelphous said it has secured its first contract as part of the project at the Dungog water treatment plant.

Under the contract, the company will provide a filter to waste system, a chemical systems upgrade and replace existing electrical switchboards.

The contract is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.

Managing director Rob Velletri said the appointment to the panel was a strong endorsement of the company.

Monadelphous has developed an excellent reputation for the delivery of high quality, safe and reliable services in the water infrastructure market, positioning us well for continued growth in the sector,” he said.

“We are looking forward to working closely with the Hunter Water Corporation and developing a strong, long-term relationship.”

Meanwhile, Monadelphous announced yesterday that its joint venture business Zenviron had been awarded additional work at the Moorabool wind farm in regional Victoria, taking its total contract to $130 million at the site.

Shares in Monadelphous were off 1.05 per cent at $16.44 each at 2.50pm AEDT.
