WA based Aquila Resources Limited has announced the issue of Mining Lease 70342 for the Issac Plains Coal Project in Queensland's Bowen Basin.
The Project is a 50:50 joint venture with AMCI Holdings Australia Pty Ltd.
Following formal approval of the Mining Lease the joint venturers have also signed key Project contracts with:
- Roche (JR) Pty Ltd for the construction of the coal handing and preparation plant ("CHPP"); - SunWater for the supply of water for the CHPP facility.
The CHPP facility is scheduled to be operating at a rate of 1 million ROM tonnes per annum from mid 2006, rising to 2 million ROM tonnes per annum thereafter.
There is sufficient design capacity built in to the CHPP facility to treat a further 1.6 million ROM tonnes per annum of coal from the Isaac Plains South Coal Project.
