Advertising agency Marketforce has completed an overhaul of its management team, recruiting Carat's Perth managing director Adam Marshall as its new chief executive.

Mr Marshall will join Marketforce and its media buying arm OMD WA in June.

Melbourne-based Jim Gall, who has been acting chief executive since Paul Everingham resigned last month, will continue as chairman of the Marketforce OMD board.

He said Mr Marshall’s extensive experience in both creative and media environments was rare.

“He has the unique complement of skills, knowledge and energy to drive greater integration, innovation and collaboration,” Mr Gall said.

His planned move to Marketforce follows the recent recruitment of Paul Coghlan as chief creative officer.

Mr Coghlan will replace senior creatives Pat Lennox and Ben Green, who are leaving in June to start their own consultancy.

One senior executive who will continue is Angela Nutton, who will remain as managing director of OMD WA – a role filled by Mr Marshall between 2010 and 2013.

Mr Gall said the new appointments signalled the group was investing in Western Australia.

“There is no doubt Marketforce has been a bastion for creativity in WA for many years and there is much to be proud of, however today’s fast moving, highly fragmented media and technology market requires a more seamless content, analytics, data and channel planning model to remain relevant,” he said.

“This is a new era for Marketforce OMD that brings with it the most powerful integrated agency offering in Perth, backed by the data and analytics capability of the Omnicom and Clemenger Group networks.”

Marketforce is ranked by Business News as WA’s second largest advertising agency.

It is listed in the BNiQ Search Engine with 70 staff, behind The Brand Agency with 90 staff.

Carat is the media arm of Dentsu Aegis Network, which has about 65 staff in WA working across multiple brands including performance and experience agency Columbus, outdoor agency Posterscope and content producer The Story Lab.
