Mining and civil contractor MACA has announced a construct only contract with Main Roads Western Australia to seal the Karratha to Tom Price road.

The contract is expected to generate $81 million in revenue.

MACA has already completed stages one and two, with stage three of the project due to commence in September 2019 and be completed by mid-2020.

Work will include the construction and sealing of a 45-kilometre section to provide a safer route for drivers, as well as reduce travel times and maintenance costs.

Construction includes overlaying the existing pavement sections, the installation of new culverts and extensions to existing culverts as required.

Through its Victoria-based civil and infrastructure business, MACA has also been awarded a $10 million construction contract by VicRoads for the Shepparton alternative route roundabout upgrades.

This project has commenced and will take approximately 36 weeks to complete.

MACA said the two contracts would underpin the civil and infrastructure division in the next financial year.
