Kalaf set to join APM

New APM chief executive Michael Anghie has bolstered his team by recruiting Youth Focus chief executive Fiona Kalaf to take a newly created role with the human services company.

Ms Kalaf will join APM in October as general manager markets and innovation.

She has been with Youth Focus, which is a suicide-prevention not for profit, since 2016.

Youth Focus runs the charity event Hawaiian Ride for Youth, which raised $2.2 million in 2018.

She previously served as chief executive of Lifeline WA for four years, and has held senior executive positions at Wesfarmers, Commonwealth Bank and HBF.

In her new role, Ms Kalaf will report to Mr Anghie, who moved to APM in March from EY, where had been managing partner for WA.

Ms Kalaf said she was proud of her work at Youth Focus.  

“I am pleased that I leave Youth Focus in a strong position, with an outstanding team, a refreshed brand and a revitalised financial position,” she said.

“Moreover, I’m pleased that the crucial youth mental health services of Youth Focus and its headspace centres continue to deliver quality health outcomes for their young clients.

“The experience of leading Youth Focus as its CEO has been deeply rewarding for me personally and professionally, and I look forward to following the continued success of the Hawaiian Ride for Youth and the important and inspiring work of all at Youth Focus." 

APM was established by Megan Wynne and Bruce Bellinge, who is also managing director of Subiaco-based Concept Fertility Centre, in Perth in 1994.

The company has grown to become an international provider of employment assistance, vocational rehabilitation and disability services across 400 locations.
