Standard metallurgical testwork apparatus for magnetite-rich rocks

Initial metallurgical tests encouraging for Coziron

Coziron Resources has completed preliminary metallurgical testwork that successfully upgraded the vanadium content for all metallurgical samples obtained from its flagship Buddadoo project near Yalgoo in the Murchison, WA.

This work produced magnetite concentrates with between 0.8% to 1.86% vanadium pentoxide, 66% to 68% iron and between 1.4% to 5.7% titanium dioxide with mass yields of up to 46%.

In addition, the concentrates display less than 1% of the contaminant minerals silica and alumina.

Management added that the upgrading of vanadium was significantly greater for the lower grade samples.

The met samples were taken from RC drilling carried out in the first half of 2018, which returned results of up to 22 metres grading 0.47% vanadium pentoxide from 52m down-hole and a 144m intersection grading 0.34% vanadium pentoxide and 9.4% titanium dioxide from 12m down-hole that finished in mineralisation.

Coziron Chairman Adam Sierakowski said: “The preliminary metallurgy is interpreted as being representative of the Buddadoo gabbro mid zone which extends for several kilometres.”

“These results are very pleasing in that they establish the potential for a high quality iron and vanadium end product from a project that is close to existing road, rail, and port infrastructure.”

The next phase of metallurgical work will include further sampling of the RC holes.

Coziron also plans to carry out a diamond drilling campaign to acquire additional sample materials for grindsize liberation and comminution studies.

The Buddadoo vanadium project contains a 6km long and 350m wide, high-order, magnetic anomaly that is generated from rock sequences containing bands of massive and disseminated vanadium-rich titanomagnetite mineralisation.
