A new $30 million hotel in Northbridge is set to open next month, with operator DoubleTree by Hilton announcing an executive team to run the facility.

The 206-room hotel is located at 100 James Street and includes an executive lounge, a kitchen, event space, a gym and an outdoor pool and bar.

DoubleTree, which is a subsidiary of hotel giant Hilton, said the development would open in late December.

The hotel is owned by Victoria Park-based developer SKS Group.

The executive team will include Tamer ElGhamry as hotel manager, commercial manager Rebecca D’Costa and head chef Kevin Garcia.

Mr ElGhamry has previously served as director of operations at a number of Hilton hotels, including in Fiji and China.

Ms D’Costa joined Hilton in 2009, having worked at Parmelia Hilton Perth as event sales manager previously.

Mr Garcia has spent the past three years as executive chef at DoubleTree by Hilton Alice Springs.

Parmelia general manager David Constantine will oversee the Northbridge executive team in a newly expanded role as cluster general manager.

“We are delighted to welcome our newly appointed executive team into their roles at DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Northbridge,” Hilton vice-president operations Australasia, Heidi Kunkel, said.

“It is wonderful to see team members Tamer, Rebecca and Kevin continue their Hilton journey, and we look forward to seeing them bring their knowledge and experience to this exciting new property.”

The new facility will be the first DoubleTree by Hilton property to open in Western Australia, with a $142 million hotel being built at Elizabeth Quay and a $70 million development planned in Fremantle.
