Evans to head state solicitor's office

Freehills senior lawyer Paul Evans has been appointed state solicitor.

Department of the Attorney-General director general, Cheryl Gwilliam, announced that Mr Evans, a Perth partner in the litigation group at Freehills, will head the State Solicitor's Office.

"I am delighted to welcome Paul in his new role," she said. "He brings a wealth of experience to this position."

Mr Evans has practised in transactional law, primarily as a banking lawyer, but also in the projects and resources areas.
