Professional services firm Deloitte has bolstered its energy and resources practice in Western Australia with two new appointments.

Consulting partner and enterprise applications specialist Nigel Court will focus on Deloitte’s SAP projects in the energy and resources sector in WA, as well as nationally and into South East Asia.

He joins the firm’s enterprise applications practice after serving nine years at Accenture, where he held the title of Asia Pacific mining leader, and will be consulting to Deloitte’s mining, utility and oil and gas clients.

Deloitte has also recruited former PwC senior Will Campbell as its new tax partner.

Mr Campbell will deploy his specialty across Deloitte’s mining and oil and gas clients.

“Our mining and oil and gas operators continue to face significant business challenges, including ongoing uncertainty around commodity prices and their continued transition for many from project investment to production,” Deloitte WA managing partner Michael McNulty said.

“Having access to deep industry expertise is incredibly important, and across their core areas of specialisation, both Nigel and Will bring a genuine wealth of additional experience to our firm and to meeting the increasingly complex needs of our clients.”

Mr Court said Deloitte had an intentional purpose to change the way SAP projects were executed with its clients.

“We want to make an impact that matters to the users, in a way never seen in the Perth market, and Deloitte has a clear capability and skills to make this happen,” he said.

Mr Campbell said he was eplased to bring his experience to a growing team that was focused and committed to delivering a seamless tax service offering to companies operating in the WA market and the broader resources and energy industries.
