Technology solutions company Data#3 has won a ‘multi-million dollar’ contract to provide its services to Edith Cowan University.

Data#3 will install the latest Cisco fixed and wireless communications technology to ECU, and will then manage it under an initial three-year term.

The contract is for all three ECU campuses in Western Australia.

Data#3 general manager WA Glenn McAtee said the company was delighted to work with ECU.

“This is an innovative and transformative project that will deliver a number of great outcomes to the university,” he said.

“The new solution will help to streamline costs and enhance efficiency and agility within ECU.”

ECU chief information officer Elizabeth Wilson said the replacing of the university’s existing network with ‘next generation infrastructure’ would enable the provision of advanced services including rich multimedia learning experiences to students, faculty and staff across the campuses.

Installation works under the contract are due to be completed by early next year.

Data#3 shares were 2.5 per cent lower to $1.17 each at the close.
