DXC buys M-Power Solutions

Global IT services company DXC Technology has bolstered its presence in Western Australia, buying local firm M-Power Solutions and consolidating its 300-plus staff in new premises in the CBD.

West Perth-based M-Power, which has 34 staff in WA and 50 nationally, will be integrated within DXC’s Oracle-focused Red Rock practice.

M-Power director and chief executive Mark Simpson said the business was growing rapidly and was at a tipping point.

“We needed to either invest more ourselves or get leverage,” Mr Simpson said in a statement.

“DXC offered us a platform for our growth in Australia and New Zealand around the world and into larger tier one customers, and we want to be a part of that success.”

DXC did not disclose how much it was paying for M-Power, which was established in 2003 by directors Rick Cooper and Steve Hitchman.

M-Power is focused on Oracle cloud-based, enterprise performance management (EPM) & business intelligence (BI) solutions.

DXC Technology Australia & New Zealand managing director Seelan Nayagam said DXC Red Rock was the largest independent provider of Oracle cloud licensing, consulting and managed services solutions in the region.

“The combination of M-Power with DXC’s Red Rock practice solidifies DXC’s position as the undisputed leader in Oracle cloud solutions in Australia  and New Zealand,” Mr Nayagam said.

M-Power was named as Oracle’s global and APAC business analytics partner of the year and EPM partner of the year for APAC in 2017.

DXC officially opened its new offices in the QV1 Building yesterday, after moving from Subiaco.
