Construction starts at new $21m Girrawheen estate

Site works have started today at The Amble Estate in Girrawheen, where the Department of Communities, Yolk Property Group and Ventura Home Group have partnered to develop 4.2 hectares of underutilised land into an affordable residential community.

The $21.8 million Amble Estate development, located 12 kilometres from the CBD, will provide approximately 129 dwellings for more than 200 residents, comprising 24 one and two-bedroom apartments, 15 townhouses and a minimum 90 single detached houses.

The Department of Communities is providing the former Hainsworth Primary School land, with plans for the site and the consortium announced in August. 

Stage One is planned to be released in February 2018 and titles available mid-next year.

The consortium is anticipating that all home sites, apartments, house and land packages will be competitively priced and below Perth median prices, making them affordable in the context of average household incomes within the City of Wanneroo.  

Yolk Property Group's Tao Bourton said interest in the estate had already been strong and that the project would deliver a variety of housing options in the established suburbs.

Mr Bourton said the organisation had previously partnered with Ventura on other collaborations and viewed the Department of Communities as a future long-term strategic partner.

Ventura Home Group managing director Phil Di Masi said a project of this size was a first for the organisation.
