Mark Clark-chaired Capricorn Metals has announced four new board and management appointments, including a new chief executive, all formerly employed at Regis Resources, which Mr Clark led for nine years.

Kim Massey has been appointed as the chief executive officer of Capricorn, around four months after he resigned as the chief financial officer of Regis.

Paul Thomas, who has served as Regis’s chief operating office since 2014, will replace Peter Thompson at the end of the month in the same role he held at Regis.

Stephen Evans has been appointed as the general manager of operations, having previously served as general manager of Regis’s Moolart Well gold mine from 2014 to March 2019.

Another former Regis executive, Myles Ertzen, will join the Capricorn board as a non-executive director.

Business News understands that Regis is currently in the process of searching for a replacement for Mr Thomas, while the other three have had their vacated positions filled.

In July, Mr Clark joined Capricorn as executive chairman and Mark Okeby, also formely of Regis, joined the board as a non-executive director.

Capricorn’s board and management was in upheaval earlier this year, when its managing director and chief financial officer resigned after two shareholders of the gold junior successfully ousted three of its directors.

The managing director, Warren Hallam, had only been in the role for just over a month when he resigned in March.

Shares in Capricorn were up 4.7 per cent to trade at 22 cents each at 1.50pm AEST.
