Civmec wins more east coast work

Engineering firm Civmec says it has won another load of contracts for major projects in the east coast, worth a combined $30 million.

Perth-based Civmec said it has won a contract for the supply and installation of steel components for several stations of the $8.9 billion Northwest Rail Link project in Sydney, as well as a contract for the construction of a rail tunnel on the Sydney light rail project, and various new packages of work for the Westconnex M4 East and M5 projects in NSW.

Civmec also won a contract with ThyssenKrupp for assembly and commissioning work on an undisclosed coal terminal reclaimer project near Wollongong.

It follows news in late June that Civmec has won about $50 million worth of contracts for work on the east coast, following its acquisition of NSW-based Forgacs Engineering.

“We are pleased that we have now established a presence as a key player in infrastructure work on the east coast of Australia,” Civmec chief executive Pat Tallon said.

“The east coast holds many significant opportunities and I am pleased we have gained the confidence of the clients on many of the major infrastructure projects that are being delivered in NSW.

“These opportunities will ensure our recently acquired Newcastle facility is active and we secure a strong presence on the east coast of Australia in a timely manner.”
