Building contractors Aurora Project Group and TR Homes have won a combined $12.6 million worth of work in rural Western Australia for the state government.

East Perth-based Aurora has been awarded an $8.6 million contract for office fit-out works in Karratha.

Aurora will fit out the second floor of The Quarter, which will house a number of government agencies including the departments of agriculture, commerce, education, finance, mines and petroleum, planning, transport and water.

LandCorp, the Housing Authority and the Pilbara Development Commission will also take up residence when the fit outs are completed, while other floors will be leased to private organisations.

The ground floor of The Quarter will consist of retail outlets.

Meanwhile, TR Homes has won a $3.9 million contract for the design and construction of 10 modular dwellings in the Goldfields.

TR Homes, which was part of Dale Alcock-led ABN Group until it was sold to Murray River North Group in 2014, will build one three-bed dwelling in Blackstone and four three-bed dwellings in Warakurna.

It will also build two three-bed dwellings and three-two bed dwellings in Warburton.
