Board moves: Austal, Stavely Minerals

Austal has appointed Chris Indermaur to its board as a non-executive director, while William ‘Bill’ Plyley has stepped down as chairman of Stavely Minerals due to health reasons.

Mr Indermaur has more than 30 years of experience in engineering and commercial roles including engineering and contract manager for the QNI Nickel Refinery, company secretary at QAL and general manager for strategy and development at Alinta.

He is also chairman of Medibio and Poseidon Nickel and a director of Austin Engineering and Centrex Metals.

His appointment will take effect from 19 October.

Mr Plyley’s position as chairman of Stavely Minerals will be filled by managing director Chris Cairns, who will assume the role of executive chairman immediately.

Stavely Minerals has also appointed company secretary Amanda Sparks to its board as a non-executive director. Mrs Sparks is a chartered accountant and a fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
