The Black Swan State Theatre Company has announced that Clare Watson will succeed outgoing artistic director Kate Cherry when Ms Cherry leaves the company at the end of the year
Ms Watson is currently artistic director of St Martins Youth Arts Centre in Melbourne, as well as freelance directing for companies such as Melbourne Theatre Company, Malthouse Theatre, State Theatre Company of South Australia and Belvoir St Theatre. She will shortly shortly commence working with Black Swan as artistic director designate in a part-time capacity and will officially take over the reins from Ms Cherry on 1 January 2017.
