BHP starts $1.2m Brookfield logo upgrade

The replacement of the logo at the top of Perth’s second tallest skyscraper has begun, after BHP Group changed its name from BHP Billiton in November.
In December, BHP Group received approval from the City of Perth to upgrade the existing BHP Billiton roof signs with new BHP Group branding at Brookfield Place, which is located at 125 St Georges Terrace.
Business News understands that over the next week all old BHP lettering will be removed from the 45-storey Brookfield Place and the new letters will begin to be assembled and installed.
Completion is expected towards the end of April.
According to the relevant City of Perth development application, the estimated cost of the upgrade is around $1.2 million.
In 2015, Rio Tinto paid around $400,000 to place four logos on the top of the 51-storey Central Park, located at 152-158 St Georges Terrace.
Central Park is Perth’s tallest building.
