AusGroup's major LNG contract with Chevron in Western Australia has been extended, while CPB Contractors has been awarded packages for Australia Pacific LNG in Queensland.

Construction and maintenance company AusGroup has been awarded an extension of work under its current contract for services at Chevron’s Gorgon gas project.

The company will supply resources to support a scheduled major turnaround at the site, which is estimated to create 150 local jobs.

Several new packages have been awarded under this contract including pipe fabrication, compressor transportation and lifting frame, main stack replacement and the fabrication of phase three and four reliable instrument air generation modules.

AusGroup chief executive and executive director, Shane Kimpton, said it was very pleasing to be able to provide key clients with ongoing maintenance and turnaround services across a variety of sectors.

“There are over 20 LNG trains producing in Australia, providing ongoing opportunities for our business to grow existing contracts and win new work,” he said.

Meanwhile, CIMIC Group-owned CPB Contractors has won a package of gas gathering and infrastructure works worth about $90 million for Australia Pacific LNG in the Surat Basin in Queensland.

The contract will deliver more than 300 coal seam gas wells over two years.

It includes providing infrastructure for access tracks and well site lease pad preparation, gas and water pipeline gathering networks, electrical supply networks and the rehabilitation of right of ways once the installations have been completed.

The company has delivered gas gathering infrastructure for more than 800 wells for Australia Pacific LNG over the past five years.
