Maguire joins SJOG
St John of God Health Care has appointed Rita Maguire to the newly created position of group director workforce. Ms Maguire was previously human resources manager at Ramsay Health Care and has also worked in the public health sector in WA.
Westdorp joins Centaur us
Brazilian iron ore explorer Centaurus Metals has appointed John Westdorp as chief financial officer. Mr Westdorp was previously chief financial officer at Murchison Metals and prior to that, general manager - finance for Burrup Fertilisers and finance manager for Normandy Mining.
Pesich up at Wood & Grieve
Darren Pesich has been appointed to the board of engineering firm Wood and Grieve. Mr Pesich has more than 15 years’ experience as a consulting engineer.
New PDC chair
Mike Hoiiett has been appointed as the new chairman of the Pilbara Development Commission board. Mr Hollett was previously CEO of the National Lifestyle Villages Group and is a current director on the Water Corporation board. Other new appointees are Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce president Bill Dziombak, Shire of Roebourne president Fiona White-Hartig, and Town of Port Hedland councillor Gloria Jacobs. Shire of Roebourne CEO Chris Adams, Shire of East Pilbara president Lynne Craigie, and Karratha Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Robin Vandenberg have been reappointed to the PDC board.
Donaldson to South Boulder
After more than 20 years in senior management at BHR Paul Donaldson will take up the position of COO at South Boulder Mines. Most recently, Mr Donaldson was the general manager for BHP’s Area C Iron Ore operation in WA.
New Curtin professors
Curtin University has appointed Michael Berndt as the new pro vice-chancellor of health sciences. Professor Berndt was most recently director of the Biomedical Diagnostics Institute at Dublin City University, and professor of experimental medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. In addition. Dudley Kingsnorth has resigned from his position as nonexecutive director of Northern Minerals in order to head the new Critical Materials Initiative at Curtin University.
Reynolds to Canning Council
Local Government Minister John Castrilli has appointed former City of Armadale mayor Linton Reynolds as commissioner of the City of Canning. Mr Castrilli suspended the City of Canning council last week. Mr Reynolds is also the current chairman of the WA Local Government Grants Commission.
New CEO at Cleveland
Peter Fisher has been appointed as CEO of Subiaco-based Cleveland Mining Company. Mr Fisher will focus on the company’s operations in South Amercia, in particular the Premier Gold Mine.
Temporary CEO for Tanami
Tanami Gold has appointed Peter Cordin as the acting CEO while the company searches for someone to fill the role permanently.
