Bunbury will host the state’s final for the Australia Post Regional Pitchfest accelerator program, which is offering $100,000 in prizes for the winners.

The Australia Post Regional Pitchfest will give the finalist rural and regional entrepreneurs, artisans and small businesses a chance to pitch their ideas on stage to a panel of judges, before taking part in workshops and mentoring programs.

State finals will be held throughout June and July, with a national final to be held in Wagga Wagga, NSW, in August.

In Western Australia, the state final will be held in Bunbury.

“Last year I set out to help one regional community – my home town of Wagga Wagga – by giving them a platform to launch their great and innovative ideas,” Regional Pitchfest founder Dianna Somerville said.

“I keep pinching myself every day that just eight months later, thanks to the incredible support of Australia Post, people from all regional communities across Australia will now get this same amazing opportunity.”

Australia Post general manager small business Rebecca Burrows said eCommerce was providing an opportunity for any Australian entrepreneur and small business, no matter where they were located, to reach customers globally.

“We’re genuinely committed to helping all small businesses thrive, wherever they are,’’ she said.

“We know there are amazing innovators throughout regional Australia, which is why we are launching the Australia Post Regional Pitchfest.”

Applications close April 28.
