Analysis: Bash but don't kill the banks

Bank bashing is one of Australia's oldest blood sports and always worth watching because both sides lose -- banks for their greed, politicians for their fear.

the reality is they have they hand in our pocket and the gov know it what about charging a tax on profit over 30% we need the bank we also need the miner charge one for over profit charge the other

Dear Tim, I'm not aginst capitalism and profits but the Banking Sector has a special place in the economy used to descibed as the 'oil that allows the economy to work'......It seems to me that this is lost in the current system. As an SME, try some time to obtain commercial funding for a well founded commercial - you may as well not try, for after all the project is financially approved for viability will come the the BIG question...'now which RESIDENTIAL property will be providing the first mortgage security'. No, the Banks failure is not about profits or even interest rates, it's about availablity of funding for the business economy. We're well on the way to becoming a large mine site with a few farms on the side - sort of has a Middle Eastern ring to it! Regards, John.
