Alliance Airlines has extended its provision of air charter services for CITIC Pacific Mining in the Pilbara region, having signed a new five-year contract.

Announced today, the agreement includes an initial 50 per cent increase in flights to the new Cape Preston (Sino Iron) Aerodrome, which opened on Monday and provides direct access to the site for Citic Pacific.

The number of weekly flights provided by Alliance will increase from 16 to 24.

The contract will service the new Cape Preston Aerodrome, where Alliance also provides the aerodrome management and ground handling services.

Citic Pacific has utilised Alliance’s air charter services since 2009, and the new agreement follows the extension of existing services with Citic Pacific into Karratha, which was announced in December.

At the time of writing Alliance shares were 1.5 per cent down at 9.4 cents each.
