APN Outdoor has renewed its licensing rights to use specific Public Transport Authority of WA assets for advertising purposes, in a revenue-sharing arrangement for up to 10 years.

Under the deal, estimated to be worth around $32.5 million for the Sydney-based firm, APN will primarily provide advertising services for Transperth buses and other PTA bus infrastructure.

The arrangement covers the Great Southern, Kimberley, Peel, Perth Metropolitan, South West and Wheatbelt regions.

The PTA will own or control all significant assets such as buses, bus depots and ticketing systems and make these available for use by the contractor for the provision of the services.

APN beat one other submission to obtain the contract.

It’s one of three contracts awarded by the PTA this year, with the two others totalling approximately $1.1 million.

In September 2017, APN secured a similar contract with the NSW government, estimated to be worth about $65 million.
