The Regional outback City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is once again, at the forefront of expanding frontiers. For those who have had the pleasure of visiting for either work or leisure, you will know that there is nothing quite like Kalgoorlie.

It is a City that literally paved the streets with gold and changed the face and fortune of Western Australia forever. A town rich with Aboriginal history, pioneer heritage and architecture, Kalgoorlie is the quintessential Australian outback town, with an edge.

City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder CEO John Walker said, “For over a hundred years, our City has kept the wheels of industry turning and we continue today, to unlock endless opportunities for trailblazers to create their own future success”.

Kalgoorlie itself is juxtaposed in its essence. At the cutting edge of mining innovation, creativity and entrepreneurialism, the City is encased within the great western woodlands which offers an unparalleled regional lifestyle and the wide-open spaces we all crave.

John Walker continues, “We are squarely focused on unearthing a City of the future. We are connected to the world, with daily flights to Perth and beyond. We have invested significantly into capital works projects and world class facilities; including our unique golf course and soon to be opened Double Tree Hilton Resort; against the backdrop of our stunning natural landscape.

Our community have a reputation for getting things done, resourcefulness and adaptation.  Employment and business opportunities, even in these globally uncertain times, are abundant.

Our community is diverse and multicultural, waiting with open arms to welcome new mates. With a distinctive arts and cultural edge which we are proud to support, you will find in Kalgoorlie a place to call home, and experience new opportunities”.

Kalgoorlie continues to drive industry growth and is at the forefront of mining and engineering technology with the development of new mineral processing facilities and a critical minerals hub. The world class WA School of Mines University ensures the next generation have the skills they need to succeed, right on its doorstep.

Significant major projects are earmarked to achieve sustainable economic growth and development. The Kalgoorlie Water Bank project, Airport Master Plan delivery, Rail Realignment, Kal City Centre Economic Transformation and Alternative Farming Food Bowl Project showcase just a few of the diverse projects to create growth in the City for many years to come.

The potential of Kalgoorlie is being unearthed by international companies, such as rare earths producer Lynas Corporation, to move forward with a rare earth minerals processing facility on the City’s Strategic Industrial Area (SIA) land. Project costs are estimated to be approximately $500 million, a major boost for the local and West Australian economy.

John Walker continues, “We are excited to delve steadfastly into the realm of meetings, events and conferences to showcase the wonders of our City with industry and Government leaders. From the internationally renown Diggers and Dealers conference to hosting the 2021 SEGRA conference, Kalgoorlie offers a new perspective on the key role Regional WA plays in driving economic growth for our State and Nation”.

Kalgoorlie is built off the true grit of those willing to put in the effort to create their own opportunities. Being part of a strong regional community means supporting others to find success and being there for each other when we face challenges. In Kalgoorlie, you will find a community ready to support your endeavours.
