Steven Birkbeck

Stephen (Steve) Birkbeck is the former chairman and managing director of Atlas Pearls and Perfumes (formerly Atlas South Sea Pearls), having first joined the Atlas board of directors in 2005. Mr Birkbeck was the founder and former CEO of Mt Romance, a WA company that has become one of the largest producers of sandalwood oil in the world. Mr Birkbeck has extensive marketing expertise, especially in the luxury goods markets. He is also a former non-executive chairman of Skill Hire. In 2011 Mr Birkbeck was presented with the title "Export Hero" from the Australian Institute of Export, and in 2003 was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
