In conjunction with the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, the Shooting Stars program was established in 2015, as part of the Indigenous Advancement Strategy. An initiative of Netball WA and the Glass Jar Australia, Shooting Stars aims to use netball as the vehicle to encourage greater engagement and attendance at school of young Aboriginal girls living in WA’s remote communities and regional towns. Working collaboratively with the local community, schools and service providers to implement a regular program of personal development activity and fun for young Aboriginal girls. Education is a foundation for hope and success and can help people overcome other disadvantages.
