Labor tipped to get home in WA election

Western Australia's state election will pit an "arrogant" premier who called a snap election on the eve of the Olympics against a recycled opposition leader called up to replace a chair-sniffing colleague.

In a presidential-style campaign, the major parties' slogans have painted Saturday's poll as a choice between Labor Premier Alan Carpenter's "vision, leadership and stability" and Liberal Leader Colin Barnett's promise of "accountability and good government".
