Back by popular demand, this well-received workshop makes a return to the Governance Institute.

Communicating with the Board through papers is a critical element in the working relationship between management and directors.

Too many board papers fail to get to the point in plain language and writers bury key messages in irrelevant detail and undefined acronyms. Another issue is poor use of templates. For example, recommendation statements are unclear and overviews are a copy and paste of material in the paper.

With more directors now using iPads in the boardroom, this workshop includes advice on writing for tablet devices, like formatting and managing data in graphs, charts and tables. A tablet application will be used during the session to demonstrate writing skills.

This interactive tutorial provides tips to help you plan, structure and write board papers. It covers how to:
• write a concise, yet complete paper
• structure a paper so it anticipates and answers directors’ questions
• use templates well.

Set the standard for you and your executives. This program will save you hours of rewrites and will result in board papers you can rely on.
