In May 2014 The State Government released the DRAFT State Planning Policy 3.7 Planning for Bushfire Risk Management and corresponding Planning for Bushfire Risk Management Guidelines.

The purpose of the guidelines prepared by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) is designed to assist in the implementation of State Planning Policy 3.7 in particular:
• Determining appropriate land use planning in relation to bushfire risk mitigation across the State;
• Specifying the requirements which must be met at each stage of the planning process; and
• Ensuring that necessary bushfire protection measures are incorporated into proposed developments.

With the May 2015 deadline approaching fast, this event will discuss important issues relating to the new guidelines and what you as a member of the residential building industry will need to consider when building and developing in Western Australia.
We will also review the NEW Bushfire Accreditation Scheme (Katherine Lee) drafted framework and DFES will be a lead agency).

The morning will consist of industry specialists, who will present their views of the new guidelines, which will culminate in a panel discussion as to the way forward for the industry and consumers in this critical area.

This event will fill up quickly so please RSVP as soon as possible and secure your seat.
