LANDS Minister Brendon Grylls has continued his announced the release of six grouped housing lots in Kununurra.
The lots will be sold by design tender to developers, with the potential for 39 dwellings to be created at LandCorp’s Coolibah estate in Kununurra.
Mr Grylls said the release of the lots was an important part of the state government’s long-term affordable housing strategy for the north.
“These lots are the latest in a program of land releases to meet demand and give people the opportunity to buy affordable land,” he said.
“The lots are zoned medium density, which will provide new housing alternatives for Kununurra residents in the town centre.”
Mr Grylls said the release would result in a quality development outcome and he anticipated strong demand.
“We’re looking to work together with builders to encourage construction of more climate-sensitive and energy-efficient homes,” he said.
Tenders close on February 24.
