Austereo's mix 94.5 is celebrating a record eight years as Perth's most popular radio station, after the final Nielsen Media ratings results for 2007 were released today.
But the results, referring to the period between September 16 and November 24, were bitter sweet for Austereo with Mix 94.5's Botica's Bunch losing the coveted top breakfast station crown to ABC720's Eoin Cameron.
The survey saw mix 94.5 finish with an audience share of 14.2 per cent (equating to more than 400,000 listeners), two percentage points down on the previous survey result from June 24 through to September 1.
The Bunch dropped 3 percentage points to 14.2 per cent over the period, while ABC720 crept just 0.5 per cent higher to take the top spot with 17.1 per cent.
Mix 94.5's morning and afternoon shifts were both number one with 15.8 per cent and 15.9 per cent respectively.
Meanwhile mix's stablemate, 92.9, recovered one percentage point in the latest survey to reach 13.3 per cent of Perth radio listeners overall, well clear of nearest rival ABC720 with 11.9 per cent.
Southern Cross Broadcasting's 96FM on 10.9 per cent just pipped DMG's Nova93.7 on 10.7 per cent, despite 96FM's market share falling 0.4 per cent over the survey period.
