The Fremantle Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold Fremantle 2020, over Tuesday November 23 and Wednesday November 24 at the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle.
The conference will look at the current status of the Fremantle business community and what is needed for a vibrant future.
Guest speakers over the two-day event include Fremantle Chamber of Commerce chief executive officer John Longley, former federal member for Fremantle and former treasurer John Dawkins, City of Fremantle Mayor Peter Tagliaferri, Fremantle Chamber of Commerce president and Esplanade Hotel managing director Marilyn New, Fremantle Hospital chief executive officer Dr Shane Kelly, Tourism Western Australia chief executive officer Richard Muirhead, Western Australian Planning Commission chairman Jeremy Dawkins and University of Notre Dame vice-chancellor Dr Peter Tannock.
The first day of the conference will commence with a retrospective from John Dawkins, followed by a report on the current status of Fremantle and aspirations for the future.
The second day will look at the future of Fremantle, heritage issues and how best to continue to build a creative community.
The conference will conclude with views on the residential sector and young people in the Fremantle community.
