THE federal government’s reform of the living-away-from-home allowance will come into effect next week after almost a year of consultation.

Western Australia’s significant fly-in, fly-out workforce, however, will be excluded from many of the changes thanks to last-minute amendments to the legislation, which passed through the Senate last week.
