Esslemont Cockram has won a $23.4 million construction contract to build the Western Australian Institute of Sport's high performance service centre.
Construction will start this month and is due to be completed by the beginning of 2015.
The facility, which will be built near Challenge Stadium in Mount Claremont, was designed by Sandover Pinder and dwp|suters.
Sport and recreation Minister Terry Waldron said the $33.7 million facility would provide WA athletes with access to unrivalled training facilities and the latest technology in sports science and recovery.
"It will allow WAIS to work with more than 250 athletes in 11 dedicated sporting programs like cycling, swimming, gymnastics, track and field, hockey and kayaking as well as a host of individual athletes from sports outside WAIS. WAIS is also home to the national training programs for pole vault and javelin," Minister Waldron said in a statement.
Esslemont Cockram is currently working on ten projects which have a combined contract value of $162.9 million, with six of these more than 50 per cent complete.
These projects include a $45 million contract to redevelop Applecross senior high school and a $17.5 million contract to build the Rockingham Challenger Institute of Technology.
Esselmont Cockram was recently awarded a $28.2 million contract to redevelop Willetton senior high school.
