Enerji jumps the gun on Tough chair

Just one week after announcing prominent company director Samantha Tough as its new chair, clean power company Enerji says Ms Tough has withdrawn her consent to join the company's board.

Enerji today admitted its board had not ratified Ms Tough's appointment before it was announced to the market last Tuesday.

It said Ms Tough withdrew from the role "based on further consideration of the cash reserves of the company and minimising commitments going forward".

Instead, the company says shareholder representatives Peter Avery and Steve Formica have agreed to join the board without receiving a director's fee.

Enerji last week said that a strong and capable board was a key element of its strategic plan for 2014.
