Decmil wins $26m Rio contract

Decmil Group has won a $26 million contract for the non-process infrastructure at Rio Tinto’s Cape Lambert port B project in the Pilbara.

The contract includes the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the Cape Lambert supply hub, an administration building and an engineering services building.

It also includes the construction of a waste water treatment and treated water disposal system. 

“The work at Cape Lambert further demonstrates our leading position in delivering NPI for remote natural resource projects,” Decmil chief executive officer and managing director Scott Criddle said. 

In May, Decmil was awarded a $35 million contract at Rio Tinto’s West Angelas iron ore project to build infrastructure related to developing the Deposit B ore body.

“As mine production ramps up and our clients focus on the operational cycle of their projects, we are in a strong position to provide the non process infrastructure required,” Mr Criddle said.  

The work is due to be completed in early 2015.

Decmil shares fell by 0.5 per cent to $1.82 per share at 12pm.
