Death at Saracen mine

Saracen Mineral Holdings announced this afternoon that an employee of an unnamed contractor passed away overnight in his room at the accommodation village of the company’s Red October mine.

“This is a very sad occurrence and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends and work mates of the man at this time,” Saracen managing director Raleigh Finlayson said.

The company said relevant authorities have been notified and the man’s next of kin have been contacted.
